Areas of India have been experiencing heavy rains this summer, resulting in water logging in several areas that has brought life to a standstill.
Traffic has been thrown into chaos, thousands waded through waist-deep water to reach home, and many vehicles had to be abandoned due to rising water levels on the streets. Reports show that a portion of a three-story building’s balcony collapsed, and another building had to be vacated after it developed cracks. Four people lost their lives and five others were critically injured in a separate incident due to the rain.
Mission India partners have lost their homes, groceries, and belongings. Local programmes are temporarily on pause, and our programme participants who rely on daily wage labour for income are now unable to go to work, leaving them struggling for their basic needs.
Our partners in India ask that we join them in prayer for the following:
Thank you for your prayers!
